Bio

Addison Woolsey (Seattle 1993) is a ceramic artist, writer and translator who lives and works between Mexico and the United States. Since 2016, he has been involved as a member of the artist-run studio Taller Mono Rojo in Mexico City, and he has been a visiting artist at studios in Oaxaca, Seattle, and Medellín. In addition to his work as a ceramic artist, Addison translates poetry and art criticism from Spanish and French to English. He is currently in the second year of a Master’s Program in Latin American Studies at UCLA, where his research concerns the ethnographic legacy of Maud Oakes, an American painter, anthropologist, and Jungian psychoanalytic scholar.

Addison Woolsey (Seattle 1993) es ceramista y traductor estadounidense quien vive y trabaja entre México y Estados Unidos. Desde 2016, ha sido miembro del taller colectivo Mono Rojo en la Ciudad de México y ha tenido estancias como artista visitante en talleres de Oaxaca, Seattle y Medellín. Ademas de su producción plástica, Addison traduce poesía y crítica de arte del español y del francés al inglés. Ahora está en el segundo año de la maestría en Estudios Latinoamericanos en la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles (UCLA) donde está escribiendo su tesis sobre el legado de Maud Oakes, una pintora, antropóloga y experta en psicología analítica.
