I am interested in the specific ways that ceramics—in its various iterations as sculpture, craft, vessel, folk art—can help us understand what it means to be human, to be alive, and to live with others. My sculptures and vessels (the distinction is fuzzy at times) are built at varying scales dependent on the constraints of local studio conditions. Acknowledging and responding to these constraints turns the studio into an ethnographic site, where clays, glaze, form, and firing atmospheres become indexes of the cultural and geological context of ceramic production.

My work can be found at Lawson-Fenning in Los Angeles, Jeff Lincoln Art & Design in Southhampton, NY, and Spartan Shop in Portland, Oregon. It has been featured in GQ, Vogue, Elle Decor, and The Financial Times.
